Thanks, Vancouver Folk Festival–we had a blast! Played music with Andrew Bird; jammed on the beach until early morn; watched our friend Travis crowd surf in his underwear while we played with Zimbabwe’s Makoomba and Toronto’s Lemon Bucket Orkestra; met lots of fine folks; slept very little.

We also channeled our festival energy in the studio the day after as well. Look forward to sharing our new tracks with you in the months to come!

Brasstronaut performs at Pecha Kucha Night in Vancouver, Sept. 20th @ The Vogue

Brasstronaut will be playing a short set at Pecha Kucha Night in Vancouver at the Vogue Theatre on September 20th. Pecha Kucha presentations will be happening globally that night in different cities–Tokyo, Moscow, Vienna, Portland, to name a few–and the theme this year is “Hidden Heroes.” Vancouver has chosen to focus on the hidden heroes of the film industry. Edo Van Breeman from the band is one of this year’s presenters and he will be presenting, Pecha Kucha style, on scoring for film.
